CCP showed with the announcement of the march expansion that theyre willing to go to great length to improve their game, such as t3, changed mining and belts etc.
What many miss or ignore is the true value of lowsec for the game . Lowsec is often the first place where a new player comes in contact with pvp, simply because it is next to empire and seems convinient, because even many older players point new players to hold their first battles in lowsec and now because of fw.
Improving lowsec means improving eve for a new players, i still have this statisitic in my mind that said that most eveplayers left the game with 10m sp.
Improving lowsec also means more content for the FW crowd and all eveplayers, if done right.
The first problem ther is with lowsec that comes to my mind is pretty simple, there is not much todo. In lowsec non timewasting content is moon mining, missioning, exploration and pvp, not much reason to go into lowsec compared to empire or 0.0
But not only that, a pvper has it alot easier to follow his role in 0.0 May it be a new player trying himself on others with a frigate, which would get blown up within 10 sec by gateguns up to gangs and fleets which will find so many more targets in 0.0 Fleets in lowsec are so rare because apart from the (one in a blue)moons there is nothing to fight about.
So you need more Content, not necessarely more isk through 5m bs spawns but fun stuff todo.
Starting with mining/Production. At the moment a big part of eves minerals are generated by missions, as well as many t1 mods that are sold for less or exact their mineral price simply because the missionrunner in highsec get that many.
By Increasing the pure isk reward of a mission and removing all of its loot, only leaving empty wrecks to salvage, mining and producing will have become alot more profitable. The same goes for Npcing since that will be the only source for named mods, if too drastic a reducing of named loot might give a similar effect.
Now when you only leave low value ores in empire, and only the non improved kind, or however you gonna change it with the march expansion, then all of a sudden ppl will have a reason to mine in lowsec again, and in 0.0 btw.
I Trust that with the march expansion the missions will be changed to be more random, with them being more interesting that way im sure the missionrunners dont rely on their kick of looting a best named item anymore.
With Mining, Production and Missioning improved why not give pirates a non pvp role in lowsec. Excuse me for being lazy jsut linking this here: Boosterproduction and other roles for pirates.
To the Lowsec Security which needs a huge change as it is now.
Empire and 0.0 both feel very different, both seem vast while lowsec often just feels like being cramped in a box, empire and 0.0 offer you their own ways of playing this game, theyre original but lowsec seems like a shallow copy of either.
To change this systems need changed, added. Make it so that there is a good chunk of lowsec between every empire as well as 0.0 regions, with plenty of entries into those of course.
Replace gateguns by something completely else, something more casual, random, less predictable and most of all less gamestyle forcing. Something like concord convoys moving through lowsec, as well as empire ones. Making it impossible or very tough to camp one spot for long, allowing hit and runs with fast ships while the security is somewhere else or requiring brute force to overcome said security.
Whatever it is, it needs to be alot more interesting and fun then the current always hitting 350dps guns that force you into boring battleships and hics but prevent no 23h/7 gatecamp.
A way for a safe ransom needs to be done, an option that when the vitctim agrees lets him pay money on a 3rd party bank, so that the ransomer only gets the money when the victim is saf -
